“The local loop is a group of interconnected trails in and around downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan.”
— MTB Project Staff
January to March from 4PM until 7AM many of these parks if not all are closed for the "deer cull"! Signs are up on those affected trails.
This ride is mostly singletrack, made up of around 20 parks in the city of Ann Arbor. This is one of many ways to ride these trails.
There are a lot of road crossings, shallow creek crossings and track crossings. Tight lightly ridden trails, no markings on most trails. The best way is to get with a local that knows their way around. Olson Park
is the only mapped out and directional trail. The rest are 2 way traffic and there are many choices of trail to pick in a lot of the sections making every ride different.
History & Background
Most of the loop is within the Ann Arbor city parks and recreation jurisdiction but some of it crosses private land that has been used for years.
