Description

Highpoint is part of the Watershed Crest Trail. The ride up is steady and unrelenting (8% average) but there are benches placed at some of the viewpoints. And what a view! Lake Pend Oreille and the Pend Oreille River, Baldy Mountain and the surrounding Selkirk Mountains are all visible from this trail.

But the downhill portion makes it all more than worthwhile. Awesome banked turns await you at the switchbacks as well as a few small jumps. I wish I could give this a 6 star rating!

The crew are very courteous but the trails will beat you up. We tried Bear Grass to start off as the guides suggested but it was too rough to main... 7mi

I had a bit of a try finding the trail after the traverse from great escape quad. what you are looking for as you "skirt" the western face of the summit is an old jeep track then it follows the ridge for a bit before the trailhead starts in earnest on your left, again slightly on the western side of the ridge. Once i found it.....ohhhh boy. Magic and a rip all the way to the barn! Jun 24, 2017
i should add for clarification in case not clear i rode this shuttled and lift service making for a 4000+ vert decent Jun 24, 2017
having been back I realize that I missed about one mile worth of amazing singletrack. In June I had passed the trailhead which is only a short climb from the saddle up toward the lakeview triple. about 30% of the way on the right as you head uphill. Aug 17, 2017
