“A generally smooth, level singletrack following the contour of the hillside above Trace Fork.”
— Jack Hoblitzell
This trail can be accessed off of Charles Hagerman Way just uphill from Shelter # 6. Park at the lot along the main road between the tennis courts and the first baseball field. There is also a short connector that provides access to the trail from the backside of the Shelter 6 area.
Paralleling the ridge, this trail is generally level, but there are several short to moderate climbs and descents along the way to keep things exciting. At just over 1.2 miles, the trail is short enough for less-experienced riders, but fun enough for those with more advanced skills. The section outlined here connects back into Harold Bishop Dr. at the rear of the park, but there are other trails that allow riders to continue, which eventually leads to a loop back to the beginning.
Near Harold Bishop Drive, riders can access the Loop Trail
to extend the ride and to see geological features such as Devil's Tea Table.
