The west end of trail between Blueberry Road and Hutchins Drive is closed in winter as it crosses through one of Portlands few remaining deeryards and provides valuable deer habitat during the winter months.
Description
A great ride in Portland with multiple access points. The trail starts with some steep wooden steps at the River's Edge parking lot. There are multiple wooden bridges throughout, so don't be surprised when you come upon them.
You'll enjoy the route as the trail twists and turns through woods. Be courteous to other trail users, as you'll likely see many hikers and dog walkers in the area. It's especially noteworthy that some use the trail without leashes, so keep an eye out for fido. The trail goes through power line rights of way and then continues off into the woods.
