Description

Starting at the trailhead, you'll begin your climb up Haines Canyon toward Mount Lukens. At the creek washout, stay right and you'll find yourself climbing the Haines Lookout. From here, continue the climb on winding footpaths leading all the way up to Mount Lukens peak.

You'll have plenty of loose gravel, rocks, and even boulders to traverse while maintaining your pace on this steep climb! When you get to the 3.6 mile mark, you can take the bailout, or continue the climb for another 1.5 miles to the peak and take in some fantastic views before descending! Keep the rubber side down!!

Dozer tracks still visible, trail still loose with lots of small dead plant debris. Gets worse higher up you go, but still doable.

Recently graded - it's now full doubletrack wide for at least a ways past the Blue Bug trail intersection. Very steep and loose soil in places.

There's a fair bit of snow at the top and it gets nice and cool on the north-facing faces 7.5mi — 2h 00m
