Like many of the trails at Moran State Park, this one is open to mountain bikers from September 15 to May 15 and is hiking only the rest of the year.
  • A Discover Pass is required at the trailhead, and the park is equipped with an automated pay station.

Description

The West Boundary Trail forms the recognized lower portion to what is commonly know as the Powerline Trail. From its intersection with the North Trail the West Boundary Trail delivers an impressive amount of jumps, drops, gaps, and the occasional brief portion of tech.

While the features on this trail provide an exceedingly fun wheels-up rid, they also require a high-level of familiarity because the progression of lines is very inconsistent. It isn't uncommon to have a small jump before or after a 15+ foot gap and most takeoffs have limited views of the landing.

Most of the jumps are very large, but there are still a few more average sized ones for less experienced members of the party. It isn't clear whether the jumps on this trail will endure friction with land management but as of 2015 they are open and running.
