The bike course starts from the gravel parking lot at Meads Quarry and heads down a paved bike trail for nearly .5 miles before funneling down into singletrack trails. The trails vary from technical singletrack to moderate jeep roads and contain a little bit of every terrain Knoxville has to offer. There are plenty of opportunities to pass other bikers throughout the bike leg. There are five paved road crossings along the bike course all of which will be monitored for the safety of the riders. There is a brief segment of road riding, after the bike aid station, which will allow spectators to line the course and cheer on the athletes.
