One of the best top-to-bottom descents in the park. Steep tech, then shallower, fast, and flowy.

Description

This is one of the best runs in the park. All of it is forested singletrack with a bit of everything present from steeps to twisties to a few rock gardens. The first third is a technical, narrow, steep expert DH style track with some tight ninja moves, followed by some fast traversing and a very, very short uphill that intersects the so-called Waterfall Rd (unsigned). Continue across Waterfall Rd and continue the fast singletrack through forest and woodlands that gets faster and faster until mach 11 through the eucalyptus forest that surrounds the lower elevations of the park. An alternative route is to start the trail from the Waterfall Rd if your skills are not up to the steep start above.

Best suited for a trail or enduro bike as there are some undulations, but mostly it is a fast blast.

Like almost all trails in Menagesha, there are too many intersections to keep track of. Follow the drainage down. Think like a cow heading down to market, follow the bike-friendly lines, and you'll stay on the right track.

Access: This trail starts about 300m to the west of the main dirt road (Menagesha Suba Forest Rd), above drive-in camp 3 (of 3) just before the top of the treeline and Emperor Menelick's old hunting lodge. Like many of the upper trails (Speedo, Heavy Meadow, Monkey Machete Mayhem), the entrance begins above the open meadow (i.e., Heavy Meadow). If you get to the hunting lodge you have gone too far, but you could start from there as well.
