Description

Strada Brentagena is a forest road, connecting the upper houses of Brentonico (elev. 700m - 900m) at the northeast side of Monte Altissimo with Via Monte Baldo, an asphalt road, at the north.

The doubletrack starts at some houses, called Festa, at the end of the asphalt road. After about 2km, you'll reach the junction to Malga Campei: Strada Forestale Frugnoni. Stay straight (not upward). Follow where the forest road leads with a little up and down along the north side of Monte Altissimo. At km 2,5 there is a u-turn. Instead of turning around, take a nice singletrack straight ahead. (Don't follow the forest road upward back to the left) Maybe it was a doubletrack formerly. This Track leads along the slope to the asphalt road (elev.1.100m).

This forest road is the best way to link the upper trails of Monte Altissimo with the lower lakeside trails ( Coast Trail: The Upper Part). Coming down from Malga Campei via Strada Forestale Frugnoni take at elevation 1.000 meters a forest road on the left and follow it as it continues northwest. This road is Strada Brentagena and brings you to Via Monte Baldo and to the trails on the north side of Monte Altissimo.
