Description

A fast connection from Pian di Pur, Malga Cita to Ca de Mez, a small alpine hut on the meadows of Malga Gi.

Start at the end of the asphalt road at Malga Cita (elev. 750m). Follow the doubletrack (marked path #419) straight ahead. It gets steeper and ends after about one kilometer. Follow the steep and rocky singletrack straight ahead. Typically, you'll have to hike your bike now for the next kilometer. At the left side, you'll find drinking water, cool and fresh from the mountain - a fine thing on a hot day.

As you continue, the trail becomes more level and less gravel; you'll able to ride your bike. There is a turn (elev.1.200m), not far from the end. The marked path #419 on your left leads directly to Malga Gi. Follow the path straight ahead. After some meters and one rocky obstacle, you'll reach the meadows. The small hut, Ca de Mez (1.230m), is straight ahead. It is mostly closed, but there is drinking water and a big roof providing some shade.

It's also possible, to ride Val Scaglia downward. I've looked it and I think it would be difficult as there are a few obstacles and a lot of gravel in steeper rocky sections.
