“Part of the American River Bike Trail, this section is 1/2 of the paved loop around !Lake Natoma.”
— Richard B.
In a California State Park the speed limit for bikes is 15 miles per hour. On this side of the lake, only the pavement is legal for bikes.
Family Friendly: An easy paved trail with many spots to stop and enjoy the view or have a picnic with the kids.
This smooth paved standard bike path runs the length of the north side of Lake Natoma, from Nimbus Dam to Negro Bar Recreation Area/Old Folsom. There are a couple of mild climbs and many curves.
At either end of the trail, you can connect to the rest of the American River Bike Trail or make a loop with either the paved or dirt trail on the south (Hwy 50/Folsom Blvd) side of the lake. If you combine the north side pavement with the south side dirt you'll be riding the Lake Natoma Loop.
