From HWY 55 go approximately 10 miles on Warm lake Rd to FR411A. After 8 miles, the road will split and take a left at the Needles Route Pack Trailhead. Follow FR497B for an additional 1.5 miles to the summit and fire lookout remains. The North Fork Gold Fork Trailhead will be to the North East of the fire lookout.

This can be ridden as a giant loop including Gold Fork Road and the Eagle's Nest Loop - Short Version if you come back up Eagles Nest Road. FR411a and FR497B can be driven preferably with 4WD on 497B.

There are spectacular views at the Gold Fork Fire lookout at the beginning of the ride. The trail starts nice and flowy from the top and then quickly turns into some heavily rutted steep terrain that will last about a 1/2 mile. From there, it becomes a nice singletrack again with some smooth rock gardens. About 2.5 miles in will be a creek crossing and then nice singletrack until the end where it becomes steep with some shale for the last 500ft. It comes out at the Dollar way trailhead at the North Fork of Gold Fork River.
