Starting in Neuchatel downtown, this ride stays as close as possible to the lake. It features mostly easy terrain, with some overgrown trails in the second half. Nice landscape.

Description [Suggest Changes]

Start downtown and follow the lakeshore. Bonus points riding over the big stones forming the lake bank reinforcements! Leave the Camping La Tene on your right, after the train bridge sharp right. After crossing the channel next to the train line, do a 270-degree turn, and after 50m one more right. From thereon, follow the trail until the next channel.

Cross at the road bridge using the steep stairs and ride along the channel. After taking the sharp turn, don't miss the right turn just before the forest. This part of the trail is heavily overgrown with grasses and reeds and needs some exploration. Don't despair, it connects the main forest path eventually.

In Cudrefin, the ride can be terminated taking the boat back to Neuchatel, or if time and fitness allow, you can continue until Portalban (same boat stops here). Just before Portalban, one can keep straight as marked in the trail, taking the "old" path, or go right taking the easier wooden path over the lake.
