Description

The Bear Pete Ridge Trail goes from the French Creek Rd. to Squaw meadows and can be ridden in either direction. This ride can be done as a loop using the French Creek Trail or roads that weave through Burgdorf. There is also the possibly to use a shuttle on this route. If you plan to do this ride in the opposite direction, it is recommended to use the road to gain some elevation since the end of this trail is very steep.

The trail begins off French Creek Rd. with some moderate climbing before leveling out. From this point, the trail has mostly reasonable grades and some large meadows. You'll ride through Frosty Meadows and then come upon Josephine Lake there is a short spur that will take you out to Bear Pete Mountain if you want to bag a peak. At the end of the trail, there will be a short road section before a final descend to French Creek.

There are hot springs at Burgdorf if you need a soak after this one.
