It would be great if it wasn't so terrible, views almost make up for the surf.

Description

Upper Buckhorn trail is a means to an end. Use it to access/escape Jones Park or to enter Bear Creek Trail #666. It has some challenging climbing through infamous Pikes Peak decomposed granite (aka gravel) and a few stunning viewpoints.

Upper Buckhorn intersects Buckhorn Trail near the top of the climb.

Watch out for snow and ice on the north side during early season, this section is well shaded and will hold snow for weeks after everything else has dried up.
