Of the three parallel trails in Bay West (Red Trail
, Orange Trail
, Blue Trail
), the Red Trail
is the lowest on the ridge. Coming from the climb on Blue Trail
out of the trolley bed, Red begins as the leftmost option. It rejoins the Orange and Blue for the rocky creek crossing and splits to the left again shortly after, the entrance marked with some small rocks. Red then surfs the hillside as it passes through the next couple of bowls.
Red eventually splits with a short loop at the end to form a lollipop. This flows best in the counter-clockwise direction, right at the intersection. After a short rise, the trail dips down and shoots you into a small tabletop with a subsequent roller or two, so enjoy the opportunity to get your wheels off the ground! Make sure to keep your eyes up, as there's a tight, unbermed turn immediately afterward. Follow the trail as it swoops back to the split, and follow the rest of the lollipop's stick out or exit on one of the intersections with Blue and Orange.
