The outer loop through several old mining structures within secluded desert mountain terrain.

Overview

Dogs: Off-leash

Description

This trail can be accessed by taking the Fluorite Ridge: Mine Shaft Segment and heading down the mining road below the mine shaft. The initial descent will be very steep and technical. Use caution when descending. The road will become much less technical after you descend past a large wooden structure that was once part of a functional mine in this area. Follow the road down and you can eventually use it to connect back into the Fluorite Ridge: Inner Loop and use it to return to the parking area.

The Great Dan Millis   Tucson, AZ
Including crappy Jeep trail rides like this one on MTB Project is OK, but giving them 4 stars is not. I stopped on my drive from Tucson to Albuquerque to do this because I saw those 4 stars. Did I read the rest of the description? No. But I'm a busy man, you see. The parking area is a wildcat shooting range. The riding is a dirt road with one horrendous washed out area. Bring your quad, your gun and your Bud Light, and take them all with you to the bottom of one of the several open mine shaft death traps along the route. Nice scenery. Nov 17, 2015
