Description

Blue Heron makes up a good chunk of the north side of Marquette's North Trail System.

From the intersection with Collinsville, the trail starts with a climb along a giant sand pit into the forest. After one quick descent, the route climbs again and then rolls over the top of a knoll.

Blue Heron descends gradually from here, winding around the back side of the sand pit and into a small, tight drainage.

From here, the route climbs again, crossing a power line cut before an extended climb up a steep side slope through lush forest to a viewpoint at the Blue Heron Overlook.
