Description

Parking for this area is up Owsley Canyon, follow the signs to the trailhead.

I like to ride #724 Mera Loop with the #700 Green Apple trail. Generally, I start counter clockwise on #700 Green Apple. Just look for the opening in the fence just to the left of the entrance.

Mera does have quite a confusing trail network, but it's getting pretty well signed - for now, just use the MTB Project mobile app.

The Mera Loop is mostly smooth and fast with some good flow in the downhill sections. You can ride these trails on a hardtail or on a plush trail bike and it's fun every time.

This loop is a great stop when traveling the freeway.

Getting forecast...

20 miles of new completed trail that are all incredible. Well worth the stop. Trails get better the further north you get away from the parking. May 19, 2015
As of 4/7/17 the lower trails are open and ready to ride, use caution after periods of spring rain of course but these trails dry quickly. Check the Mt Emily Recreation Area website for updated trail maps and MERA rules. Spend sometime in La Grande at our local bike shop, Mt Works. Get some food at Joe and Sugars or Raul's. Try out the new brewery, Side A. This a great stop and some great riding. Apr 7, 2017
