Starting from Hidden Valley Resort, the North Woods Loop trail has sort of a three leaf clover configuration.

Following the tracks shown here, you ride out opposite the resort entrance on forested doubletrack going under a quarry conveyer tube. At the trail junction near a parking area, stay to the right and go up the hill. As it levels off at a view point you'll see a branch of the trail going left. Take it, which will bring you onto an open grass field.

Continue across the field and cross Tunnel Road. Here you'll see two more branches of this trail. Take the left branch, which will circle around bring you back to the same point at Tunnel Road. Cross back across the road and rejoin the trail on the other side. This time as you ride across the field take the trail as it goes down to your left.

Continue around and back up until you get to the viewpoint from earlier where you'll again see the North Woods Loop trail junction. Take a right, which is the same short segment you previously took bringing you back out to the field. At the field, this time take the trail to your left, which takes you sharply down (alongside Tunnel Road) to the point by the parking area where you access the return trail to Hidden Valley.

With a stem and three loops its a strange trail configuration but all the junctions are marked.
