Description

This segment of the Pioneer Trail connects riders from the trails around Marietta High School to trails located at the Broughton's Wildlife Area. The southern trailhead starts at the sidewalk on Colegate Dr directly across the street from Academy Dr at Marietta High School. The northern end of the trail meets SR 821 at the main entrance to the Broughton's Wildlife Area (GWB1).

Heading north the Pioneer Trail leads you up a rolling climb for the first half of it's length. At around .25 miles, you'll see the Rudolph Farm Trail on your right. This trail can be used to complete a loop around the property. After reaching the top of the hill, the trail crosses a powerline right-of-way and begins a fast descent with a few small "pedally" sections. At the next powerline crossing you'll pass the Dark Hollow Trail on your right. This trail can be used in combination with Rudolph Farm Trail, Mill Creek Trail & Second Creek Trail to complete a nice loop around the property. This area is a must ride when you're in Marietta!
