Overview

This is a scenic singletrack trail just north of town. The trail follows the base of the Organ Mountains south towards El Paso.

Description

The trail crosses a series of arroyos and gullies. The challenges come in the form of short, steep climbs. There are also sections of embedded and loose baby head rocks that will have you sliding on the way down and strategizing for traction on the climb up the other side. This route is north to south, then turns around to return to the start. The out leg drops in elevation that you'll feel on the return leg as you need to regain that elevation.

You'll start on the Sierra Vista Trail: Dripping Springs Rd. to Soledad Canyon Rd. and wind up on the longer Sierra Vista Trail: Soledad Canyon Rd. to Pena Blanca.

decent trail - some difficult parts, particularly loose gravel areas and short, steep uphills. definitely air down your tires to make it easier.
