A challenging loop with beautiful views

Adopt These Trails!

Overview

Malakoff Diggins is the site of the water canon mining days during the gold rush, looks very spectacular. The North Bloomfield is an old mining town, now a ghost town interesting to visit. Missouri bar trail is a fun long singletrack downhill to the South Yuba river. Then follow the river on a challenging, sometimes steep, sometimes technical trail. Not for beginners.

Need to Know

Along the South Yuba there is a section where the trail is gone. It is needed to carry the bike for a little while on the rocks near the river. Lots of fun!

Description

Epic ride. Very diverse views, terrains and difficulty. Not for beginners.

Rim trail in good condition. Trail down to the river ~2/3 down unpassable due to fallen trees, and washed out trail. Too dangerous to carry bikes. 17.8mi

Great scenic ride. There was still a lot of fallen trees on the trail as the result of the rainy winter. 18.3mi — 3h 12m
