Description

The Zoo Trail is a wide dirt trail that winds through the woods below the Reservoir. It can be accessed from the pool area via a staircase, or from the Overlook Trail on one side and via One Wild Place on the other side. It's a great way to climb into the park from Butler Street. Continue on to the Overlook Trail for a nice view of the river valley.

From the end of the trail near the bottom of One Wild Place, you can access the sidewalk to the Highland Park Bridge if you're looking to ride to the other side of the river to Sharpsburg/Aspinwall.

Additionally, this may be a great way to access new park space near the Heth's Run which runs under the new Heth's Run Bridge. This new park space and river access is still under construction and may not be available until summer 2016 or later.
