“A short, sometimes muddy loop down to Club Run and back.”
— Adam Linstedt
Club Run Trail takes you into one of the Canaan State Park trail networks from a roadside pullout. The trailhead is marked with a sign and can also be accessed from the Connecting doubletrack behind the cabins that originates at the junction of Back Hollow Trail
, Railroad Grade Trail
and Allegheny Trail (Canaan Mountain to Canaan State Park)
After a short flat section, which is quite wide at points, Club Run Trail branches to the left and drops gently down to Club Run before starting its ascent back up. As the return route crests, you reach a trail junction. To the left is the Middle Ridge Trail
. To the right is the return to the Club Run trailhead. Club Run trail is mostly dirt with little or no rock. If it has been wet, expect mud and mud bogs on the flat section. The section of trail looping down and back to Club Run gets a lot of drainage. In addition to any mud, there will be exposed roots and small ledges.
