Description
This trail has a 2 mile section of very tough terrain to hike with large slab rocks and very steep grades. Please be sure to give yourself enough time to hike a fair amount if you want to pursue this ride.
The first 3 miles of this trail is very standard wide, sandy, and loose rock desert trails. At mile 3 you'll see warning signs of steep and tough terrain ahead. There is virtually no riding to be had for the next 2-3.5 miles. It will be a tough hike and dragging up a bike will probably make it that much harder. You'll continue to hike up the steep section of the wash and eventually it begins to level out. At this point you'll probably still need to hike up as it is very sandy and full of chunky rock (you can ride a bit of this section when heading downhill.)
After you get out of the wash there is a technical climb up and over to the next canyon, then a short down across another wash and up again out of the canyon. At this point you'll meet up with the
Mesquite Trail and
Goat Camp Trail intersections.
