The east end trailhead is in the Medicine Bow Peak Observation Point, and the west end is near Lake Marie West Parking Area but on south side of Hwy 130. Both ends have parking areas.
Use this trail as a connector between bigger rides, or as the first segment of riding the French Creek Trail. The upper portion is tiny pea gravel and can be slippery. If you're a history buff, check out the old mine and cabin along the way.
Be prepared, this is a hefty hill heading from the west and there is a bike path along the highway for part of a return portion of a loop. The Tipple Trail pops out on the highway after about 2.4 miles and can be made into part of a big ride going all the way around the Snowy Range.
Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with small rocks or roots.
Sizable rocks & roots. Steep sections.
