Rocky Branch Trail is rated Moderate and is the easiest of all the trails at Rocky Knob, where there are no "Easy" trails. This and all the trails at the park have a treadway that is more rock than dirt.

Take Rocky Branch and follow it clockwise to access Middle Earth and all other trails at the park. Rocky Branch begins just after the short entrance trail and main trailhead in the parking lot at 3245 ft. After about 1/4 mile the trail descends a bit and crosses 4 bridges. This bridge area and a few spots on the climb that follows contain tight turns and short punchy climbing sections.

The trail follows the Rocky Branch creek to the back of the property where it turns and begins to eventually descend. The downhill back to the parking lot makes all the climbing worth it.
