Galbraith Mountain is privately owned but trails are created and maintained by WMBC. Galbraith is open to non-motorized users except for hunting and fishing. The area is an ongoing site for logging operations so visitors should be on the lookout for temporary trail closures. Trails are multi-use; expect traffic in both directions and yield to hikers and equestrian users.
The Ridge Trail is a highly trafficked trail on Galbraith that connects the Miranda
trail (or the stair) to the kiosk at Checkpoint Kilo. Anticipate steady climbing with a few steeper sections. There is also one area of optional exposure beneath an old tree.
While the scenery isn't remarkable along the entire trail, the view back across the city is well worth a pause and a breather. In warmer months, a pair of binoculars can sometimes be found in an ammo box to enhance the perspective.
