Description

Pierson Park Road is a nice long stretch of quiet and isolated doubletrack that can be easily combined with other trails for a grand mid-elevation adventure.

From Cabin Creek Road in Meeker head up through the Forest Service gate (locked since the 2013 flood) on the sometimes eroded and steep Pierson Park Road (#119). While generally rideable, there are a few steep sections that will likely have you pushing.

A huge wash out from the 2013 flood after about 6 miles poses some route finding challenges- when heading toward Estes it is necessary to climb a bit while crossing the washout to connect with the track on the other side. The northern 3 miles were regraded since the flood and are in good shape. There is no parking at the northern end due to private property, but there is a large dirt area at the southern end off of Cabin Creek Road. This can be ridden in either direction with a similar level of difficulty.

Jeep trail, steep and sustained. ORV traffic. Meh overall. Seeing the Twin Sisters slide area from the 2013 flood is cool.

I rode out and back from the Pierson road cut off. Great doubletrack till you get to the rock slide. Pick your way through, following orange tags. 12.9mi
