Description

This is a rare dirt ride in the national park. The trail is an old dirt road that appears to be ground up pavement and stone. The trail is very flat, but takes you through a scenic valley where bison tend to hangout all year.

Although it is outside of the main geyser basin area, there are still hotsprings and thermal pools along the trail. One of which is Ojo Caliente Spring, only 0.8 of a mile into the trail. The gravel trail continues to head south taking you behind the Midway Geyser Basin and ending at the Fairy Falls trailhead.

The trail also goes by Goose lake and the back side of Grand Prismatic Springs. There are numerous possible side trips on foot along this very leisurely ride.
