This is a great local trail of Sandpoint, Idaho. It offers a challenging climb and rewards with beautiful views of Lake Pend Oreille, the city of Sandpoint, Schweitzer Ski Mountain and the surrounding mountain ranges. The trail is predominately a north slope trail which gives way to a cooler, deep forest feel. It doesn't take long to feel like you are away from civilization.

The climb starts out quickly from the Parking lot as you enter into a maze of switchbacks which become less in frequency as you near the top of the trail. The trail is predominately wide, as singletrack trails go, with a base of hard parked dirt and small rocky sections every so often. With its popularity and quick local access, you'll meet lots of hikers, trail runners and bikers. When biking, use extreme trail etiquette an yield to everyone. Look as far as you can down the trail and go slow around blind corners.

The Trail is a very straight forward trail offering and up and back route. You'll meet lots of good natured people on this trail and they welcome cyclists. It's a cheerful local trail... Enjoy!!
