Description

Head West (right) from the end of the Roman Nose Lake Loop and stay to the right when you pass the Roman Nose Mesa Loop Bypass. Continue on the winding singletrack trail through tall grasses near the lake as you ride into a forested area.

As you get near the south end of the lake shore the trail merges up with another trail back to the left. That trail is a short little bypass back to the mesa loop/Inspiration point.

Continue on down the trail for some fun downhill riding on dirt, as opposed to the rocks on most trails. Keep a watch out for roots and trees and enjoy yourself. There are a couple of bridges on this trail and excellent relief from the heat and sun.

There is a trail junction not too far after the first bridge, take a right across another small bridge and then head left up a long set of stairs/ledges that were setup to prevent erosion.

Note: Instead of going across the second bridge, you can continue straight on up the Roman Nose Switch Back Trail if you want.

Once the hike-a-bike up the ledges is done, you can ride for a short distance. At the next trail junction, you can hike-a-bike up the left path or ride down the path to the right. They are both great trails, one just requires a bit more work.

Continue riding down the trail and soon the trail will drop off to the right. The top part of the descent can be a bit scary for a novice or first time rider to the area, but it is one of the most fun parts of the trails at Roman Nose.
