Description

From the end of the Roman Nose Lake Loop you can look up and see Inspiration Point, this is the highlight of this trail and you'll soon be there.

Head east (left) from the start and wind around the backside of the mesa. This trail is pretty easy riding for the first part of the trail. You'll see a lot of Oklahoma's wonderful red rocks and lots of cacti. As you near the south end of the first segment the trail starts to climb off and on until you reach the top part of the mesa.

Once on top the trail levels out and soon you'll be at Inspiration Point. This is a great place for photos, you can also see most of the park from here. From Inspiration Point head south on the western trail and you'll be greeted with mostly flat riding and lots more cacti.

When nearing the south end, the trail will make a left turn followed by a sharp right. Be on your guard as this descent is very steep and has some large drops. Once you get down the steep part, you'll be at a trail junction. Take the right path, to finish up the Lower Mesa Loop.

Once the Mesa Loop is finished, you can take the bypass back to the Roman Nose Lake Loop or veer off and do the Lakeshore Trail.
