Description

The Hickory Glen trail consists of approximately 6 miles of tight singletrack and switchbacks, punctuated by log piles, dirt jumps, and a few built structures. The 'Hick' is well known in the area as one of the fastest trails to dry after a rainstorm, and can usually be ridden with a clear conscience for days before the mud drys on other trails.

As you enter the park, follow the drive as it curves to the right. The trailhead kiosk is located just right of Ball Diamond #1 off of the paved bike path.

The trail consists of several segments looping off of the paved bike path. The trail makes its way around most of Hickory Glen Park and at about the 4 mile mark you'll find yourself back on the blacktop bike path heading towards the east end of the park. You'll cross over a bridge and the singletrack picks up again to the left. After you finish this section of trail, you can pick up the MTB trail again on the east side of the blacktop path. After a quarter mile you'll be dumped back on the blacktop path. Take it back over the bridge and pick up the MTB trail on your left again... There is a temporary route to a new loop at the southern end of the trail. You can turn left on Glengary rd to access the new loop about 100 yards down the pavement on the left. Go back to the split and and follow the main trail back to the trailhead.

Good dry conditions - some branches reaching out to grab you. I think two tree falls to ride around/over during the first half. 3mi — 90h 00m

It was my first time. The trail drained well, very tight, fun and several interesting features. Definitely worth an occasional trip! 6mi — 0h 40m
