NOTE: This is a one way trail. Please ride counter-clockwise.
The Back Eighty is roughly 2.5 miles of twisty, narrow, old-school singletrack. Although the trail rolls a little bit, the first 2 miles are either flat or climbing, overall. There is very little help from gravity.
Portions of The Back Eighty are technically difficult because of large rocks & roots on the trail, skinny boardwalks, and tight passes. This trail has none of the characteristics of machine-built singletrack. It has the raw feel of old-school hand built mountain biking trail.
Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with small rocks or roots.
Sizable rocks & roots. Steep sections.
Steep. Some technical terrain and limited alternate lines.
Very steep. Technical terrain with no alternate lines.
