Description

The Stack Rock trail starts off of Bogus Basin road and begins on an easement obtained by the Land Trust of the Treasure Valley. From there the trail crosses Forest service property and finally onto Boise City Property. The trail is well mark and is a main trunk trail for a lot of other trails in the system. This trail uses a lot of old roads so can get wider than singletrack in spots.

The best route to Stack Rock is to stay left after the large berm. This direction has a steeper climb, but allows you to descend the handbuilt singletrack sections that twist through the forest. On weekend this trail can get very busy especially if it is hot in the valley.

A stop at Stack Rock is a must since it is such an impressive formation jutting out of the ridge line and also a very prominent landmark from Boise.
