“A short, steep, flowy downhill run featuring numerous drops.”
— Matt Goodman
Medropolis starts at a scenic overlook where you can take in a panoramic view of the city and Lake Superior and gather your courage before turning around and heading downhill on the gnarly run.
Watch for the wooden white/black painted black diamond signs as you go.
If you are standing on the bald rock overlook with your back to the lake, Medropolis skirts the left side of the central stand of trees. Continue for 20' until you come to the first rock outcropping.
Begin by rolling down a large, steep bedrock rock face with a little rock-built transition back to dirt. This feature is not for the faint of heart. Next, you continue down to encounter a couple more marked ledges (some with wooden down-ramps/landings). There is a short pedaling portion in the middle of this trail before descending again. All the features can be rolled, but doing so still requires skill and commitment.
At the bottom, you'll come to an intersection with Stovetop (Lower Burner), just NE of the Skyline trail intersection.
