Description

Right off the bat, the trail drops you into a beautiful, burned forest. Effortlessly, the trail winds from bermed turn to bermed turn through the forest's secondary succession. Watch your speed however, as Lodgepole Gulch is just as loose as the rest of the trails in this system.

Luckily, this trail is almost totally covered by trees and provides some much needed respite from a hot, Sun Valley day. Even better are the fast, pumpable rollers that can really increase your speed. If you want more descending, pass Mahoney Ridge Trail. The trail ends at the intersection with Mahoney Butte Trail.
