Overview

Please respect the trails and those who care for them if the ground is soft, ride the road.
The lower section includes some tough climbs which you appreciate on the return home. The up hill is gradual and good for all levels. The top sections are fast and flow well. Catch excellent views from two lookouts which feature the Mississippi River and the driftless valley region.

Description

Climb hard, ride fast, meet others, and have fun.

Rode uphill from the lodge to the loop on top. Great views. Temp was 28 degrees so some parts were frozen and others thawed. Very slippery 5mi — 1h 30m

The Quarry Trail section is excellent. You can see where it starts on this map by the yellow triangle with the exclamation mark. Very rocky and very narrow, with occasional offshoots that are expert level difficulty. The rest of the trail is just a dirt trail going up and down, with just a handful of technical features. The Quarry Trail Section and the downhill bomb at the end make it worth riding. The trail is poorly signed. The map at the trailhead is made with magic marker. The signs within the trail occasionally make sense. Sep 1, 2015
