A pleasant loop amid big trees mostly on old doubletrack.

Typically snowy from November through February. May be closed during the summer months due to fire danger.

Description

This area is great for beginners and families. There is some singletrack but mostly it is old doubletrack with very moderate grades.

Heading east (counter-clockwise) on singletrack you'll encounter the only chunky tread which is about 20 feet long. Other than that it is smooth riding as the trees open up into meadow. At the east end are some swooping turns and then the trail heads back west gradually climbing on old doubletrack.

Please watch out for and be courteous towards hikers and equestrians.

Could be used as a first MTB ride to be followed by Otero Canyon as skills develop.

Flowy downhill, mild uphill with very few technical features. Great for beginners or those recovering from injuries (me)! 7.6mi

Juan Tomas two weekends in a row to get away from the hot footies. Great fun for all skill levels. Ponderosa to Mahogany and back offer more.

A few places with packed snow but mostly clear and dry. A fun ride with no one around! Pay attention to offshoot trails
