From the Horseshoe Gulch/Tiger Dredge Trailhead, head north through piles of rocks (tailings from the mining dredge boats of the early 1900's), then pass through a small wetland. Once on dry ground, cross the Colorado Trail and continue climbing through meadows.
Once you reach the high point, you'll intersect with Blair Witch
Trail and Hay Trail
. From here, those are better options, as this trail now descends very steeply on somewhat loose ground. It's an okay descent, but would be a lousy climb. It is pretty in this section though, and quickly ends at Soda Creek Trail
