A super fun, technical trail with lots of sandstone and good views.

Description

This is part of the full Raiders Ridge. The trail offers a lot of techy features and challenging terrain. If you can't ride it, you can easily walk it. It's obvious where the trail is, though not at first.

Amazing technical trail. A cross between Dakota Ridge and Lower Porcupine.

I rode this trail a few weeks ago. Unless you're Danny Macaskill, you're going to walk several ankle-breaking sections -- bring your 5.10 rubber soles. It has weird slabby, rocky flat sections and really short uphill spurts that require hella balance and nerve. I thought I'd be riding dowhill most of the way, but noooooo. And I like really techy downhill sections where gravity does some of the work. There were some really frustrating muscular rocky sections, sometimes on a knife-edge ridge, that left me swearing at whomever thought this trail could be hilariously fun and frolickly. Awesome trail if you're a technical junky. Don't expect a coaster, you will be working hard. Constant technical moves uphill and downhill, big rock slabs and boulders, but they are mostly all solid and well stuck in the ground. I think it's the best hard technical riding around, with awesome view when you get a change to look up. Jun 25, 2018
