Description

Sope Creek is one of the more underrated trails in Atlanta Metro. It's popular with walkers and runners as well as mountain bikers.

Sope Creek is a mix of wide trail and classic forest singletrack. The ride is commonly done as a figure eight with direction depending on the day of the week.

The singletrack is nice and flowy through beautiful hardwood forests. The trail doesn't have much for elevation change but does feature a couple of fun descents.

Overall, Sope Creek is a good place to get in a quick ride if you are crunched for time.

Probably one of the best MTB trails within the city limits where the population exceeds 6 million. 3 major entrances to park. The lower main section is heavily trafficked packed gravel; however, the upper 2 loops have some good sections with steps, rock sections and good climbs with some grades exceeding 18%. Because of location parking is problematic at peak times with runners. Oct 30, 2016
Do not use address in driving directions - it will take to an apartment complex with a gate that is sometimes open. If you are coming from OTP (north of 285) then find Soap Creek NPS on your favorite driving app. If you are ITP (south of 285) then Eugene Gunby Road off of Interstate North Parkway is likely a better option - < 1mi of hard pack gravel to pick up single track - must branch left.
