While not a great stand alone ride, Gold Run Road provides an excellent link to many other trails within the Golden Horseshoe. The southern section of the road passes through several aspen groves making the trail an excellent choice for a fall ride.

The south end of the trail begins across from the Wellington Neighborhood in French Gulch near Betty's Trail. The road climbs steadily passing Prospect Trail and Chantilly Trail before topping out, joining an asphalt section of road for 1/4 mile before continuing as a gravel road just beyond Western Sky.

The passes Slalom, Fall Classic Trail and Western Sky trails then descends steadily to the north, passing Little Corporal, Preston Way, Extension Mill Road, and Upper Flume Trail along the way. At mile 3.0, the road passes the remnants of an historic mining operation. Turn left at an intersection with The Ledge trail. Gold Run Road terminates at a paved trailhead parking lot at the downhill end of Tom's Baby.
