You have to ride this trail from K2
. From K2
it's a steep winding trail that doesn't let up until you're at the viewpoint where you'll want to pause a while, both to give your legs a break and to take in the sights.
Directly behind you at the viewpoint you'll find an old mining shaft, a relic from Nanaimo's coal mining days. It's full of water now, but don't fall in, there's no way to tell how deep it is. It's time now to drop your seat post and cinch up your cape, the trail takes a steep technical descent until it merges with Mothers
. You wouldn't want to ride up this side of the trail.
