Description
Nicely flowing singletrack with some substantial topography: sustained climb if you're "westbound" or ripping descent if you're "eastbound". As is characteristic for most of the Duluth Traverse, the trail is fairly wide and smooth with comfortably bermed corners.
Climbers: catch your breath at one of the several fantastic overlooks of the Duluth/Superior harbor.
Descenders: check your speed. Some of the berms are too tight to completely let go of the brake leavers and they also tend to drop out from underneath you a bit.
Moderately steep. Uneven terrain with small rocks or roots.
Sizable rocks & roots. Steep sections.
Steep. Some technical terrain and limited alternate lines.
Very steep. Technical terrain with no alternate lines.
