Description

There are many bedrock sections here where it can be easy to lose the path. Learn to look for subtle hints indicating where the trail crosses bedrock.

This trail is the NE section of the main Piedmont loop. Starting from the Hutchinson Road parking lot spur, head left.

The start of the trail is old-school, rooty, tight, twisting singletrack through the trees. When you pop out onto the open bedrock, keep left, and follow the trail clockwise around the bedrock. You'll pick up speed as you pump or jump the fun rollers heading into the trees for a fun, bermed descent down to the powerlines.

Cross the powerlines and head right to continue your loop on Stovetop Lower Burner.
