Description

Bad Branch is a 12 mile loop, but has two connectors that can be used to shorten the loop to 4 or 8 miles. The trail is blazed in red and its recommended riding direction is clockwise. It has just under 1,000 feet of elevation gain, and is the least technical of all the loops at Syllamo.

Nice parking area, clean restroom, $3 forest service fee. The trail needs maintenance. Many downed trees, trail completely blocked about 1/2 mile in.

Trail was dry due to lack of rain in the area. Aside from some overgrown weeds in a few spots, trail was in great shape. 10.8mi — 1h 15m

First half is overgrown pretty good, second half is better. Some nice singletrack. Will be back in the winter when plant life dies down.

This was a great flow trail, but it gets very grownup during the summer. We had our fair share of ticks afterwards.
