A nice curvy climb to Lincoln Mountain's mesa top - also a decent descent.

Description

This is the initial part of the Lincoln Mountain Loop. From the Lincoln Mountain TH, ride generally northward to the first split. Go left to follow this trail; right will bring you to the Palmer Divide Ranch Connector and the subsequent Palmer Divide Ranch Loop.

The trail consists of a gradual (3-8%) variable climb through meadows and stands of scrub oak. It pleasantly undulates upwards for the first mile before settling into a long straight climb to the mesa top and the beginning of the mesa top loop. As a decent, it is a fun, flowy trail with numerous tight turns and earthen berms used as erosion control.

Overall, I assess this trail and Beginner-Intermediate. It has zero obstacles, although the constant changes of grade and minor undulations result in lots of shifting. Based on the significant horse tracks and few obvious MTB tracks, this trail is used primarily by equestrians; therefore, I recommend caution when descending into the many blind corners.
